Hello, and welcome!
I’m Elizabeth, and I’m set in my ways. I’m 45, will be 46 in September. I have seven children, three natural and four ‘step’. I also have two wonderful grandchildren and one on the way in May. Everyone in the clan is introduced on the Cast of Characters page.
If you are still interested in hanging out, here are the 10 things I think people would be most interested to know:
- I like to think I have my priorities straight: God, Family, Love, Home
- I have five dogs, and one cat. Yes, we DO think we have enough animals…
- My youngest son is severely emotionally disabled, and is currently home awaiting a new hospitalization.
- I trained as a paramedic in college – then decided not to follow through.
- My oldest son is currently planning to become a whitewater rafting instructor.
- My father passed away when I was young, and I was raised by a very strong woman.
- I don’t need a man, I have one because I want him here.
- I am seriously looking forward to the day when I don’t hear “Mom, what’s for dinner?” EVERY single day of my life!
- I love to cook, yet can’t seem to bring myself to share recipes on my blog regularly.
I am also a Star-Trek geek, a Star-Wars geek, and a World of Warcraft geek. Yes, I do speak geek fluently and know exactly what LEET LOOT is.
My family plays e-mail RPG games for fun, and sometimes we table top for old times sake. I know what a D10 die is for.
I am also addicted to XBox 360 and have most recently played and beaten Assassins Creed I & II, Fall Out 3, and BioShock 2. I also have a serious addiction to Half Life and Half Life 2… do you know who ate all the donuts?
I love to write, I am passionate about it. Until I lost my job, it was just that, a job… now it is a way to keep myself busy, and share my life with others. I also love to take photographs, good or bad – doesn’t matter! I started this blog as a way to collectively keep my family updated, share my writing, photography, and jewelry with others, and to make new friends.
Here you might find my unique take on life with the severely emotionally disabled, or pictures of my Pomeranian hopping around the yard like a rabbit. You might find heartfelt and poignant discussions on suicide and death, or stories about my childhood. It’s pretty much a crap shoot!
So, enough about me – what about you, dear reader? Pull up a chair, tell me about yourself! I’ve got the coffee waiting… cream or sugar?

Hello Elizabeth! I’m delighted to happen onto your blog, especially to see the photos of your pets. Would you be interested in having some of your pet experiences included in a book? I’m currently under contract to write my eighth book of true stories about people and their animals, particularly friendships between animals – and you have a nice cast of characters! If you’d like to take a look at my previously published books, go to http://www.roxannesnopek.com. I’d love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Roxanne Willems Snopek
